    M12 × 50mm coach screw in galvanised steel.

    It is driven with a spanner or socket rather than a screwdriver, so you can put real torque through it and pull a heavy fixing tight into timber without a nut on the back. The galvanised coating gives solid outdoor corrosion protection at a fraction of the cost of stainless.
