    M12 threaded rod in galvanised steel.

    Cut it to length on site and you have a custom-length fastener with a nut at each end — which is why it is the standard answer for hanging services and for joints no stock bolt fits. The galvanised coating gives solid outdoor corrosion protection at a fraction of the cost of stainless.
