    M8 × 70mm set screw in galvanised steel.

    Full threading lets it clamp at any depth, so one length covers a range of joint thicknesses — which is why it is the fastener most workshops buy by the box. The galvanised coating gives solid outdoor corrosion protection at a fraction of the cost of stainless.
